The Seacoast Beverage Lab Podcast is about to hit 156 episodes. We started it back in 2012 as a way to bring together beer enthusiasts from different locations to talk about beer. The response to the show was great from the start and it still makes me smile when people stop me at beer fests to say “hey I love your podcast!”. That’s so cool.

The one thing you get when you have 4 hosts from different backgrounds on a podcast is just that, 4 different people with 4 different lives and schedules. We are at a point where I think it’s best we push pause on the weekly show, for a few months, here’s a few reasons why.

We are a podcast hosted by 4 adults, and adults tend to have babies. Ben recently welcomed his daughter, Charlie, to the world and Sean is weeks away from welcoming his first child. Balancing new parental duties with a weekly podcast isn’t something I want them to worry about, so I’d like them to spend time with their families for that extra 2 hours a week, every bit of time counts. That leaves Carla and I to run the show and with the holidays coming up and a fairly long trip I have planned (more on that later), there would not be much time for us to get together to record a show.

The final show before the break

The last podcast will go live Monday November 14 at 8:30pm EST. You will see it in your podcast feed a couple days after that.

When will the podcast return?

As of now I expect the podcast to come back better than ever in February 2017. February is a great month for beer in New England, with Portsmouth Beer Week and the Extreme Beer Fest, so there is no better time to come back.

In the meantime

Don’t unsubscribe from the show. Even though there is no SBLPodcast for a few months does not mean other content won’t show up in the podcast feed. I am hoping to take the off-time to do more in person chats with brewers and beer lovers in the area, and any audio from those conversations will show up in the same podcast feed. Along with that make sure you are subscribed to my YouTube Channel as well for other random things. This blog and my column in the Portsmouth Herald will remain unchanged.

In the meantime, how can we make the show better for it’s return? What would you like to see us talk about or change? Please email me some feedback to

Podcast is taking a break until February 2017. In the meantime keep an eye on this blog for updates!
