How to Subscribe to the Podcast

We have gotten a lot of great feedback so far on the podcast. I hope you enjoy it. While the videos are instantly uploaded to YouTube, you might be wondering why it takes so long for the audio to show up. I do some producing in the background and upload it within 12 hours of the live broadcast. After that it may take an EXTRA DAY for it to show up in the iTunes store. I don’t use iTunes for my podcasts, nor should you. Here are some tips on how to subscribe to the audio podcast to get it in your ears the second I upload it.

Use this URL

Instead of going through the iTunes store to get the podcast (which takes 24 hours after I post the podcast on this site), use the above URL and import it into your favorite podcasting app (you can use the address in iTunes as well). If you use iTunes, from the Advanced menu, choose “Subscribe to Podcast…” and enter the above address. A similar method can be used in other podcast apps.

My Favorite App

I don’t go through iTunes for my podcats, I use a dedicated application called Downcast for iPhone (app store link).

You can look back at all of the past episodes and they automatically download when they are available. Check it out.

For Android users, I hear a lot of great things about the app called DoggCatcher. Update: Reader Jamie enjoys using BeyondPod for Android.

Moreover, from those mobile applications, you will have all the information at your fingertips as it includes a link to the show notes in every episode.
