Love of Beer Panelists Announced

After months of planning, the 2beerguys and I have put together what we think is a solid panel to go with the East Coast Premier of the Love of Beer movie on Friday March 2 at the Music Hall in Portsmouth (Click here for tickets).

Our thoughts behind doing a panel is similar to what we saw in Portland, OR. It’s great to watch a movie, but its even better to host a discussion afterwards with some of the areas most influential women in craft beer. We are very proud to announce the following four panelists that will be speaking after the movie.

Nicole Carrier
Head Marketer – Throwback Brewery – Northampton, NH

Nicole is the Head Marketer, Chief Realist and card-carrying M.B.A, handling marketing, technology, and lots of the ‘people stuff’. Before starting Throwback Brewery, Nicole homebrewed for 10 years, but now mostly dreams up new recipes for Annette to expertly craft. Nicole fell in love with craft beer almost 20 years ago while an undergraduate at Dartmouth college. More information can be found on Throwback’s website (link)

Andrea Stanley
Maltser – Valley Malt – Hadley, MA

In early 2010 Andrea And Christian Stanley partnered with local farmers and planted 26 acres of both 2 and 6 row malting variety barley. This growing season presented a few challenges but overall provided them with a great harvest to begin commercially malting with. In 2011 they have planted over 80 acres and are planning to continue growing slowly and sustainably. Valley Malt is used by Cambridge Brewing Co., Throwback Brewery in Northampton, Wormtown Brewery in Worcester, among others. More information can be found on Valley Malt’s website (link)

Gretchen McDonald
A&G Homebrew Supply – Portsmouth, NH

Gretchen lived in Portland, OR for a decade and during that time has witnessed the craft beer scene become more than just a spectacle, but a lifestyle. Gretchen worked directly with some of Oregon’s most well-known breweries and wineries in her seven years as Communications & Public Relations Manger for the Portland Oregon Visitors Association. We believe her west coast influence and love of beer (no pun intended) makes her a perfect candidate for the panel. She and her husband Alex opened up their homebrew shop in Portsmouth less than a year ago and have since inspired thousands to get out and homebrew. More information can be found on the Shop’s website (link)

Janet Egelston
Owner- Northampton Brewing Company – Northampton, MA

Name sound familiar? Janet is the sister to Smuttynose and Portsmouth Brewery Owner Peter Egelston. From about 1986 – 2000, they both owned Northampton Brewery. If you have not been out to Northampton Brewery for a pint, do so asap. We are looking forward to having her be a part of this panel! More information can be found on the Brewery’s website (link)

Moderator: Amber Jansen – 2BeerGuys.com

The moderator for the discussion is none other than 2Beerguys wife and craft beer enthusiast, Amber Jansen. Amber is a lover of all things beer. She has visited numerous breweries, attended 2 bloggers conferences and blogs for 2beerguys.com. What she has found to be her greatest love in the vast world of beer, are beer folks themselves. Their shared passion for that beverage of beverages inspires her to continue to learn and grow in the world of beer.

Tickets are $8.50 and can be purchased in advance at this link here and can also be purchased at the door. The lounge bar will open at 6pm for a meet and greet social and the film will begin at 7pm.
