Stout Day Social at Portsmouth Brewery
From the latest email from JT over at Portsmouth Brewery, it looks like they will be hosting an excellent social/book signing in honor of the first International Stout Day! I couldn’t be more excited. Check it out:
Joshua, (Imbibe magazine, Slashfood.com, The New York Press) will be with us to sign copies of his gorgeous new book and talk with you about pretty much anything food or beverage related. Brewed Awakening is a trove of great information presented in a bold, eye-catching layout, well-suited for new craft beer drinkers as well as seasoned aficionados alike. This wouldn’t be a bad way to get some early holiday shopping done either; just sayin’.
During the social, Peter Egelston, founder of Smuttynose and Portsmouth Brewery, will engage Joshua in a discussion about the book and the current American craft beer scene.
Of course there’ll also be food and beer! You’ll enjoy a four-course pairing menu that combines the talents of Executive Chef Todd Sweet and Head Brewer Tod Mott:
-Butter-Poached Oysters with salsify, leeks and chive sour cream paired with our Milk Stout
-Bison Slider with extra sharp cheddar and smoked onion relish paired with Black Cat Stout, our dry stout
-Pulled Szechuan-Roasted Duck on crispy wonton paired with Oatmeal Stout
-Black Cherry Strudel with dark chocolate sauce paired with Le Chat Noir, our Belgian Stout
Vegetarian options will be available. Please let us know you don’t eat meat when making your reservation.
Spaces for this social are limited and we expect to sell-out quickly (like the rest of our beer socials), so call soon to make sure you don’t miss this literary/culinary event.
We are offering two types of reservations:
1) $30 for the social including tax and gratuity
2) $50 for the social, tax, gratuity and a reserved copy of the book, which Joshua will gladly sign for you. Brewed Awakening retails for $28.95, which means you’ll save 30%.
Here’s how you can sign up. Beginning this morning, Monday, October 17, at noon please give us a call (603) 431-1115 or stop by the Portsmouth Brewery. Don’t forget that as Imperial Pint Club Members, you have a two day window to make your reservations for the social before we include general public.
We hope to see you all on November 3!
