Wormtown Rocks the Ale House
Last night I swung down to Amesbury, MA for the first time to support my buddies @2beerguys and the Wormtown Tap Takeover event they planned. This was my first time at the Ale House and now I understand the hype. A great, rare tap list that is untouched by many if not all bars in Portsmouth.
Just a 30 minute drive from Portsmouth, the Ale House is a good looking bar and is laid out nicely. The walls are lined with tackers from local breweries and a classy looking upstairs where you can look down at all the people in the place. I was hoping that Wormtown brought their Dark Day Black IPA but much to my disappointment they did not. They did however bring a fine selection including their Birthday Beer, Blueberry, Pumpkin and their Oktoberfest, among others. The O’Fest was an instant winner because I am a fan of that style. The Birthday beer, a Double IPA, was packed with hops and was smooth.
I also got a chance to try some of their food. The pulled pork sliders were really good and was served with a mountain of fries, yum. Sean, Ryan, Ian, Amber, Jen, and Kristen have put a lot of effort into North Shore Beer Week and as of last night have put on about 8-10 events. Tonight you can find me back in the fine town of Amesbury where the 2beerguys Wives are doing a Pizza and Beer Social at Flatbread’s. The event is going to draw a big crowd and will sure please the masses of the small town.
