Beer Notes: Geary’s Hampshire Special Ale

You caught me. I’m on a Geary’s kick recently. Truth be told I poured for them at the Yankee Homecoming Brewfest in Newburyport this weekend I really enjoyed the brews I was pouring. Tonight is the Hampshire Special Ale which I was not pouring during the fest but there were some bottles kicking around for special requests.

Hampshire Special Ale is a 7% ABV English Strong Ale that pours a dark orange and comes with a taste of hoppy malty goodness. A nice caramel malt smell too. What’s great about this one is that that aftertaste doesn’t leave you going “blah”, it’s actually pleasant. This one beats out the Summer Ale I had last night and I can see myself getting a full six of this for my fridge. The Geary’s website claims it is an all year round beer so I don’t think I will have trouble finding it. Try it!

Review- Love it
