Movembeer a success!
Thanks to the crazy fast planning by Walter, Brian, Christine and Jason, the Movembeer event at the Portsmouth Brewery last night was a huge success. The final count of Foursquare check-ins looks to be 47, which means a total of $705 was raised for the Movember Foundation. I had a such a fun time talking to everyone that I didn’t even take a photo at the event (shame on me). On the bright side I gave away a 2011 Portsmouth Brewery Imperial Pint Club Membership to @JeffCutler, who came all the way from Boston and had the lucky raffle ticket! Thanks again to everyone who show’d up and had a good beer with some great tacos and raised both money and awareness for the Movember Foundation.
Harpoon Tasting at Gaslight Tonight
As mentioned in the last edition of the Brew News, Harpoon is coming to town tonight to showcase the Winter Warmer and their 100 Barrell Series Oaked Aged Dunkel. If you happen to have a Friend of Harpoon Card you are in luck as you will get a pint of whatever harpoon you like, free! The event lasts from 6-8pm. For more details click here.
Seacoast Homebrew Club December Meeting Tonight
After you grab a brew at Gaslight you should consider heading over to the Riptide Bar at Chef’s Table to meet Ray and the gang at the Homebrew Club meetup. Have a beer you like or even a beer you made? Bring a couple bottles of something you made or enjoy drinking to share with others. Should be good times! For last minute info check out the Facebook Event Page.
Smiley’s Holiday Tasting Tonight
If you find yourself without something to do after reading this post then I don’t know what to tell you. Tonight is night #2 of Smiley’s (in Dover) annual Holiday Tasting and from the posts I’ve seen on Facebook it looks to be a really good time. I wish I could make it but I hope to get to Smiley’s for one of their mainly tastings happening a couple times a month featuring a different brew. If you attend the tasting let me know how it was. For more info you can check out their website or follow them on Twitter or Facebook.
Tis the Season to be a Beer Lover
The picture explains it all. Together in perfect harmony both the Portsmouth Oatmeal Stout and Smuttynose Robust Porter are on tap at the Brewery and I couldn’t be more pleased. I bumped into JT from Smuttynose last night and he mentioned they are almost ready to kick off with the 2011 Big Beer Series first shipment. To get more information on the best beer gift ever, check out the Big Beer page. As an added incentive, subscribers will get a free 2011 Imperial Pint Club Membership and will be invited to the launch party before every new month’s release! How awesome is that?
All for now, you should have plenty to do tonight!
