Movembeer Comes to Portsmouth Brewery #nhtweetup
This is my first opportunity to co-sponsor an event since I started blogging and I am pretty pumped. Myself, with the great collaboration efforts of Christine Major of @NHTweetup, Jason Boucher of @BoucherMedia and Brian DeKoning and Walter Elly of Portsmouth Foursquare created an event to raise some last minute funds for the Movember Foundation. This event combines the Big 3: Tacos, Beer and Good Causes!
The Movember Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that runs the global men’s health initiative, Movember. Each year, Movember, the month formerly known as November, is responsible for the sprouting of thousands of Mo’s (Australian slang for moustache, where the movement began) on men’s faces around the world, raising vital awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically for cancer affecting men. Last year, 255,722 men and women across the globe raised $40 million (USD) – all through the power of the Mo. On the web at movember.com. Follow Movember Team Boston on Twitter at @movemberbos.
The neat part about this little fundraiser/meetup is the Portsmouth Brewery is donating $5 for every Foursquare Check-in at the event (up to 50 check-ins)!! How awesome is that? You can help too if you are in the giving mood. You can donate money per check-in as well, raising the amount of money donated per check-in. Last tweet up I believe got somewhere around $22 per check-in after all was said and done. Even if you can’t donate you should come on down to the Brewery starting at 6:30 tomorrow. I just heard word this morning there will be some raffle prizes, yet another reason to come join in on the fun.

Don’t forget it is also $1 Taco Tuesday at the Brewery so if anything you should come on down to meet some fine folks and have some good tacos!
See you there! Cheers,
